Volume Discounts & Quantity Controls
- Quantity Controls take precedence over volume discounts.
- This means that if your volume discounts do not conform with any Quantity controls you've enabled, your users will never be able to leverage these discounts
Example:
• You set a maximum quantity of 75 in the Quantity Controls Tab
• You then set a volume discount for 10% savings if someone orders more than 100 of this item
In this scenario, the system will prevent a user from entering a value greater than 75 before they ever reach the 100 quantity.
Your users will never be able to take advantage of the discount until the quantity controls are updated
Multiple Volume Discounts
The system will automatically sort discounts based on the threshold number. as seen on the Product Information page.
The highest threshold that meets the specified quantity will be the one applied to an Order Item
Example:
Let's say you have three discounts with different thresholds. such as the following.
• 2% off at a threshold of 250
• 5% off at a threshold of 500
• 20% off at a threshold of 1000
If someone ordered this catalog item and specified a quantity of 500. the 5% discount is automatically applied.
